Punjab government to celebrate 550 Prakash Purab at Times Square, USA in April 2020

After successfully organizing, celebrating 550 Prakash Purab of Guru Nanak Dev ji in Punjab, Capt. Amarinder Singh led state government is going to celebrate it at international platform.Chief Minister of Punjab, Capt Amarinder Singh has already announced to celebrate 550th Parkash Purab of Guru Nanak Dev ji till November 2020.
This year Punjab government has decided to spread the message, philosophy of Guru Nanak, internationally and has decided to celebrate it at one of the world’s most visited tourist attractions-Times Square, New York, United States of America, in the month of April 2020. Times Square is sometimes referred to as “The Crossroads of the World” ,is a major commercial intersection, tourist destination, entertainment center and neighborhood in the Midtown Manhattan section of New York City.
For this special event, the govt is going to hire reputed / experienced event management agencies of National/ International repute, which can manage this gala event at international level.
When contacted the officials to know about the exact date of the event, they said” as of now, no date has been confirmed by the authorities ” Another official of Punjab government on the condition of anonymity said the state government is trying to celebrate 550 Prakash Purab of Guru Nanak Dev ji on Baiskahi day in the month of April 2020 at world’s renowned tourist destination-Times square, New York, USA.
Sikhs living in America were already celebrating Turban Day on Baisakhi at Times Square, New York, USA,the crossroads of the world, as members of the community tied turbans to thousands of New Yorkers and tourists in an annual fixture aimed at spreading awareness about the Sikh identity.
“Sikhs all over the world has already been celebrating the 550 Prakash Purab of Guru Nanak Dev ji and Punjab government this special initiative to spread the message of oneness , love, affection of Guru Nanak Dev ji at Times square would add another feather in Capt. Amarinder Singh led state government” said Tarun veer Singh, a resident of America.
