Punjab Government to woo NRI’s to increase FDI in the State of Punjab –Rana Sodhi

In a press statement issued by Karan Randhawa Hon NRI Coordinator (Australia) Government of Punjab told that Rana Gurmit Singh Sodhi Sports and NRI Affairs Minister addressed Global NRI COORDINATORS, which was participated by Kripa Shankar Saroj IAS Additional Chief Secretary Department of NRI Affairs , DPS Kharbanda, IAS Commissioner cum Special Secretary Department of NRI Affairs , Amardeep Singh Rai ADGP RAI ADGP NRI Punjab Police. Virtual meeting was hosted by Manjit Singh Nijjar NRI Coordinator UK Government of Punjab.

Rana Gurmit Singh Sodhi while addressing the meeting, appealed to NRI’s all over the world to contribute towards betterment of Punjab. He told that Punjab has suffered lot in past and currently facing problems like farms bills and it need contribution from NRI’s to boost its economic prospects

He added that he is currently working with the Chief Minister of Punjab to woo NRI’s and the rest of the world to Invest in Punjab. For that very soon Punjab Government is going to constitute an Investment and Sponsorship Committee consisting of NRI’s that will work to bring foreign Investments and Sponsorships.

Karan Randhawa told that Minister said that NRIs all over the world are the face of Punjab and can inspire the rest of the world to bring investments in Punjab. He added If NRIs can do well abroad, they can also do so in Punjab. For that NRI Affairs Department and Invest Punjab together will formulate policy and make aware NRI Coordinators in which sectors NRI’s and rest of world can invest.

He added that the Government is currently working for Digitization of revenue records to protect NRI properties so that no one can sell and take information of their properties without their consent.
