Punjab government has nominated 3 Syndicate members of Punjabi University Patiala.

As per the orders Dr Nar Bahadur Verma, a Co-chairman RTI-Cell, Punjab Pradesh Congress committee and has served congress party on different posts in the past.  Dr KD Singh, former Principal, Government Medical College, Patiala and Harinder Pal Singh Mann were appointed as syndicate members, for the period of one year.

Dr Verma is a new entrant , this year. Dr Verma is a prominent social figure of Patiala and has been associated with a number of social and voluntary organizations from two decades. He is a member of Institutional Animal Ethics Committee, I.A.E.C, Punjabi University, Patiala.

Dr Verma is born and brought up in Barnala, Dr Nar Bahadur Verma belongs to an illustrious family of doctors. He was born on May 12, 1944 at Barnala and his father was a graduate in medicine from the National Medical College of Calcutta in 1920. He graduated in veterinary sciences in 1968 from PAU, Hisar.

Dr KD Singh remained Principal of Government Medical College, Patiala.

Harinder Pal Singh Harry Mann is a politician, who fought 2017 assembly election from Sanour, but lost to Harinder Pal Singh Chandumajra. Earlier he served in various capacities in the Punjab Youth Congress and Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee. He was appointed general secretary of the PYC from 1980 to 1985 by late Rajiv Gandhi when Partap Singh Bajwa was the PYC president.Recently his son was also appointed as Chairman market committee Patiala
