Punjab govt shifts employees of Hindu Cooperative Bank in various cooperative banks

The cooperation department of Punjab Government, on Thursday, shifted as many as 70 employees of Hindu Cooperative Bank Pathankot to various bank branches of the department. Punjab Cooperation minister  Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa, in press statement, said that following the directions of Reserve Bank of India to cut the expenses of Hindu Cooperative Bank, the decision has been taken by the government.

He added that the shifted staff includes Field officers, field assistants, clerks, junior auditors, peons etc.

Punjab govt shifts employees of Hindu Cooperative Bank in various cooperative banks.Earlier, the bank was facing problem of surplus staff and the government had requested many co-op institutes of the state to adjust the surplus staff. Only seventy staffers would be retained in the different branches of the bank and rest would be accommodated in different institutions,was informed by Punjab Cooperation minister  Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa, in March this year, due a fraud surfaced in the Hindu Cooperative Bank, Pathankot.

The Hindu Co-operative Bank Ltd. Pathankot was registered on 30.09.1926 and started functioning as a society, It came under the Preview of Banking Regulation Act, 1949 in September, 1968 and Reserve Bank of India granted licence as an urban Bank on 24‑08‑1982. The bank is governed in accordance with the directions of Reserve Bank of India and the provision of Punjab Co­operative Societies Act, 1961 and the rules made thereunder.
