Just few months before Punjab’s assembly elections, Punjab Vidhan Sabha Speaker Rana KP Singh disqualified Aam Aadmi Party’s Baldev Singh Kalyan from the assembly on Tuesday. Kalyan was a legislator from Jaito segment.

Punjab MLA disqualified by Vidhan Sabha speaker

In an order issued today by the under secretary Punjab Vidhan Sabha Chandigarh read as “Speaker has been pleased to disqualify Baldev Singh Kalyan, MLA elected from 89-Jaito (SC) Assembly Constituency in the State of Punjab from the membership of the Punjab Legislative Assembly w.e.f. today i.e. 26th October, 2021 as per the provisions of the Tenth Schedule of the Constitution of India.”

Baldev Singh Kalyan elected to the Punjab Vidhan Sabha for the first time in 2017. Remained, Head Teacher at Government Primary School Machaki Mal Singh. Remained, Member of Previleges and Petition Committee of Punjab Vidhan Sabha (2017-18). Presently, Member of Committee on Question and Reference of Punjab Vidhan Sabha (2018-19).
