Punjab police accomplished mission “Jaipal Bhullar”; encountered in Bengal

Jaipal Bhullar once was a national-level hammer thrower, now Punjab’s most wanted and “A”gangster Jaipal Bhullar alias Manjit Singh, who was wanted in connection with the killing of two CIA assistant sub-inspectors Bhagwan Singh and  Dalwinder Singh in Jagraon , Ludhiana, has been killed in an encounter near Kolkata on Wednesday, sources informed.

Son of a retired Punjab police official from Ferozepur,Jaipal is one of the most dreaded and sharpest gangsters of the region. He was wanted in Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan and Himachal Pradesh for over 40 cases related to murder, extortion, kidnapping, robbery and smuggling.  He allegedly killed rival gangster-cum-politician Jaswinder Singh Rocky on April 30, 2016, in Parwanoo, Himachal Pradesh.

Meanwhile, no official statement from Punjab Police in this regard has been received so far. However sources informed that Punjab police Organised Crime Control Unit (OCCU) and STF of Kolkata Police have jointly carried out this encounter near Kolkata, today. Sources said the encounter took place at Shahpoorji Enclave in Kolkata. Besides, an officer of Kolkata Police force has been critically injured during the encounter, sources informed.

The Punjab Police have been chasing the gangster since May 15 after he along with his aides shot dead two Punjab Police ASIs in New Grain Market of Jagraon, Ludhiana.

Lucky Rajput alias Lucky, a resident of Ludhiana, who had allegedly actively assisted the killers of the two ASIs was arrested on June 1. Earlier, police had arrested Darshan Singh and Baljinder Singh from Gwalior in Madhya Pradesh.

Jaipal Bhullar, was also wanted in Rs1.33-crore robbery from an Axis Bank cash van outside Chitkara University campus in Banur, 40km from Patiala, in 2017.

He was so sharped and managed such secrecy that his latest photo that the police have is around a decade years old.

DGP Punjab Dinkar Gupta had already  reiterated that the supreme sacrifice of the two brave hearts ASIs will not go in vain and the force was committed to get all the accused. He said rewards of Rs 10 lakhs and Rs five lakhs have been announced for the arrest of Jaipal Bhullar and Jaspreet @ Jassi Baba, respectively.
