Punjabi university organized workshop on “Cyber Threat and Detection”

Due to phenomenal rise in usage of Internet, security and privacy issue over the cyber space is a matter of great concern. Keeping in view of the same, Zero Day Club of Department of CSE, Punjabi University Patiala under dynamic leadership of the Vice Chancellor Prof. Arvid organized one day hands on workshop on “Cyber Threat and Detection”. In this workshop, Vipin Gupta Director UNET Solutions acted as a resource person.

Prof. Arvind, Vice chancellor Punjabi University, Patiala inaugurated the workshop. He congratulated the department for arranging this workshop and motivated the organizers of Zero Day Club to regularly  organize such kind of workshops . Prof. Arvind discussed with the students various cyber security issues and quantum computing techniques.

Dr. Raman Maini,  Head of Department said that Cyber security has emerged as a key challenge for the cyber security community.  Focusing on  various cyber threats and mitigation issues. he talked about  various various activities being carried under  technical clubs to  help the students to build their technical profile for better placements. Further he told that more than 100 students participated in the Workshop.

Prof. Lakhwinder Kaur  Department of CSE also addressed the students and provided insights into the cyber security issues.

Workshop co-ordinators Dr. Abhinav Bhandari and Er. Navdeep kanwal welcomed  participants and the guests . He spoked about  the importance and benefits of cyber security. In his  speech, resource person  Vipin Gupta, elaborated about Firewalls, Intrusion Detection System, Digital Signatures and different cyber-attacks along with their prevention and detection techniques. He also told that there is a strong need to create the cyber security experts in India to meet the demand of security industry. Workshop Coordinator thanked the Zero Day Club Students organisers for success of the workshop.

Punjabi university organized workshop on “Cyber Threat and Detection”. The faculty of the Department Dr. Nirvair Neeru, Dr. Hapreet Kaur , Dr. Navjot Kaur, Er. Amrit Kaur, Er. Supreet Kaur Gill, Er. Ram Singh, Er. Charanjiv Singh & Er. Jashandpreet Singh Toor were also present during the event.
