Punjabi’s dominate in extending support to Kerala Flood victims

Once again Punjabi’s proved that they are ready to serve the humanity, when ever, who ever need their help, they extend their full support as they are kind hearted, of helping nature. This has proved once again as they dominate the rescue operation in Kerala. When needed they show their valor at Border and in peace they engaged in the rescue efforts as well.

When their brethren in Kerala need them due to natural calamity, Punjabi’s extended their hand and full support to them.

First volunteers of Khalsa Aid from Punjab, a part of an International NGO famous for extending support in the world where there is any natural calamity, disaster occur, went to Kerala. They started langar at local Gurudwara in Kerala and helped locals by engaging themselves in rescue operations. Apart from langar, helping in rescue operations, they distributed the essential items packed in small kits to the effected families.

Then Punjab Govt. extended support and announces 10 crores of donation. Out of this 10 crores, 5 crores were donated to Kerala Chief Minister Relief Fund and rest 5 crores were given in the shape of food items, bottled water along with other necessary items.

This does not stop here. Shiromani Gururdwara Prabandhak Committee (SGPC), a Sikh religious body in contributing towards Kerala flood victims. A 35 member team was dispatched from Amritsar with relief material to Kerala.

Even Patiala Member Parliament, Dr Dharamvira Gandhi became the leader and handed over a cheque of Rs. 1.00 lac, his month’s salary to the Deputy Commissioner Patiala Kumar Amit, for donation towards Kerala relief funds, immediately after the disaster occurred.
