Rana KP Singh demands construction of Haryana Vidhan Sabha building outside Chandigarh,writes letter to Modi

Former Punjab Vidhan Sabha speaker Rana KP Singh,in a letter written to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has demanded that new Vidhan Sabha building of Haryana should be constructed outside Chandigarh.
“I want to convey you(Modi) the sentiments of the patriotic residents of the border and sensitive state of Punjab. History is witness that whenever the enemy has seen the land of Mother India with an evil eye and has challenged the pride of India, the brave patriotic people of Punjab have given a befitting reply to the enemy by making sacrifices.. From protecting the borders to the development of the country, Punjabis have always registered their participation with great enthusiasm. But there are many long-standing issues of this border state, which have been stuck for a long time and due to which the sentiments of Punjabis have also been hurt due to non-resolving”,Rana wrote in the letter.
He said that Punjabis had high hopes from the BJP government at the Centre under Modi’s leadership. “Be it the issue of water, whether it is about giving Chandigarh to Punjab, the patriotic people of Punjab were hopeful that you(Modi) would give them their pending dues. But the central government’s stamp on the demand for a new assembly for Haryana in Chandigarh will only deepen the long-pending dispute between the two states. This will send a very wrong message to Punjab”,he said.
“A new assembly building should be constructed for Haryana, we do not oppose it but welcome it. We will be happy that the Central government generously provides the budget for the construction of Haryana Vidhan Sabha. But our objection is that the new assembly of Haryana should not be constructed in Chandigarh and it should be constructed outside Chandigarh “,he said.
Rana KP Singh said that Chandigarh was built for Punjab. Chandigarh’s Panjab University and High Court were built for Punjab. But like some other historical mistakes made in the country in the past, the governments could not solve the pending issues of Punjab, due to which the peace of this border state has also been affected. Now if the central government has agreed to provide land for a new building of Haryana Vidhan Sabha in Chandigarh itself by committing a new mistake, then a new seed of quarrel between the two states will be sown forever, which will not be in the national interest at all.
He said that ” patriotic people of Punjab are very emotional on Chandigarh issue which related to their sentiments. The central Government can win the hearts of Punjabis by showing generosity for the setting up new Haryana Vidhan Sabha outside Chandigarh and it would raise the hope among Punjabis that now the central government is serious to solve other long pending issues of Punjab. If you(Modi) can do this, it will be a very exemplary initiative which will send a very positive message to Punjab and it will also heal the wounds of Punjabis”.
Rana KP Singh demands construction of Haryana Vidhan Sabha building outside Chandigarh,writes letter to Modi. He expressed the hope that Narendra Modi would respect the sentiments of Punjabis and give them justice.
