Rare collection of postal heritage of Phulkian states will be displayed at Patiala heritage festival

A rare collection of postal heritage of Phulkian states comprising Patiala, Nabha, Jind, Kaithal, Malerkotla, Kalsian and Faridkot will be displayed in an exhibition of Numismatic and Philatelic heritage of Phulkian States from February 22nd-24th at Patiala heritage festival.

The exhibition will be held at exhibition centre, sheesh mahal Patiala and will be inaugurated on the first day of Patiala heritage festival.

Patiala district administration in association with Postal department and a private collector of these rare articles Narinder Pal Singh is organizing this exhibition of Numismatic and Philatelic heritage of Phulkian States.

In this exhibition, postal stamps, postal envelops, coins, stamp papers of Phulkian states comprising  Patiala, Nabha, Jind, Kaithal, Malerkotla, Kalsian and Faridkot will be displayed. Coins of Patiala riyasat, starting from the founder of Patiala Baba Ala Singh upto 10th generation will be displayed by Narinder Pal Singh.

As per Priyanka Sharma (ASP-Hqrs) of Postal department “postal department will set up a stall in the craft mela at sheesh mahal where ancillary items like mugs, clocks etc will be sold. Also My Stamp counter will also be established where anyone can come and make a stamp of his /.her.  These stamps are legal and can be used for posting a letter or documents. The stall at craft mela will work from the inauguration day to the last date of the mela.” She invited all to come at postal department stall at sheesh mahal.
