To conduct extensive sampling of suspected COVID Patients, District Administration and Health Department Patiala have set up around 30 sample collection centers for COVID tests in the district.

Divulging the details, Deputy Commissioner said that out of these  23 are Government collection centers while  7 other are private centers.  Similarly, to ensure smooth functioning of the COVID-19 related work,as many as 14 Nodal Officers have also been appointed who are overseeing all the arrangements and giving feedback to the higher authorities from time to time.

Giving details about the sampling centers, the Deputy Commissioner said that the centers in government health institutions at Patiala included Government Rajindra Hospital, Mata Kaushalya Hospital, CHC  Tripuri, CHC  Model Town, Military Hospital, D.M.W.  Railway Hospital, Commando Hospital, Police Hospital Police Lines, Central Jail Nabha Road, Patiala including trunat testing facility at Rajindra and Mata Kaushalya Hoapitals.  Similarly collection centers  set up in private hospitals and laboratories include Columbia Asia Hospital, Vardhman Mahavir Hospital, Urban Estate Patiala, Amar Hospital, Prime Hospital Badungar, Lal Path Lab near Leela Bhawan.

Elaborating the functioning of various nodal officers deputed for  COVID-19, he added that Dr.  Jatinder Kansal has been appointed as the nodal officer for management and care of COVID corpses . Similarly, arrangements for ambulance service and transportation of testing teams have been assigned to Dr. Parveen Puri while responsibility of IEC, Administrative Coordination, Monitoring of Collected Samples and Identification of Containment Zones have been given to Nodal Officer  Dr. Sumit Singh. Apart from that   Dr. Nidhi Sharma is working as Nodal Officer for Home Isolation,  Dr. MS Dhaliwal Nodal Officer for Private Covid Facility   and  Dr. Shally Jaitly has been assigned the task of Nodal Officer for Covid Care Center, Meritorious School. He further said that the task of nodal officer for rapid antigen has been entrusted to Dr.  Poonam Singhal, Patient Tracking and Monitoring and Contact Tracing to Dr. Divjot Singh and liaison with other districts for Rajindra Hospital to Dr.  Sukhminder Singh and RTPCR sampling to Dr.  Swati .

Kumar Amit informed that the Medical Superintendent of Govt Rajindra Hospital Paras Pandov has been appointed as the nodal officer for any problem related to the isolation facility while Dr.  Navdeep Bhatia, Dr.  Vishal Chopra and Dr.  Sachin Kaushal have been entrusted with the charge of Incharge Isolation.

The Deputy Commissioner said that to extend testing facility at the sub-divisional level, Sample collection centers  at  Civil Hospital Nabha and CHC Bhadson have also been set up. Similarly Civil Hospital Rajpura, CHC  Kalomajra, PHC  Koli, CSC Ghanour, PHC Harpalpur, CHC Dudhansadha have also sample collection facility.  Besides it, Civil Hospital Samana, CHC  Patran, PHC Shutrana, CHC Badshahpur have also provided with sampling facility.  Amongst the private hospitals/labs having collection centers, included Neelam Hospital Rajpura and Guru Nanak Lab, Rajpura. Apart from these six antigen testing centers have also been set up at Mata Kaushalya Hospital Patiala, Civil Hospital Nabha, Civil Hospital Samana, Civil Hospital Rajpura, CHC Model Town and CHC Tripari.

Rise in cases; Patiala administration establishes 30 Covid sampling centers: DC. The Deputy Commissioner appealed to the residents of the district to follow the instructions given by the government for the prevention of COVID by ensuring wearing masks, maintaining social distancing, washing hands frequently and avoiding unnecessary travelling.
