Ruling party expelled its senior leader from party; close to party high command; found doing immoral activities

In a face saving exercise, ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has expelled its Karnal leader Chander Prakash Kathuria from the primary membership of the party for six years. Meanwhile, the reason behind the leader’s expulsion from party was not mentioned in the letter issued by state BJP president Subhash Barala.
Chandra Parkash Kathuria, who is a matriculate and passed his matric in the Year 1989 from Varanaseya Sankriti Vishvidyalya, hails from Karnal and had unsuccessfully, fought the 2009 assembly elections on a BJP ticket from Karnal. Later he was appointed as Sugarfed Chairman in Dec 2016. He had also sought a BJP ticket for Karnal during the Lok Sabha elections in 2019,but party gave ticket to Sanjay Bhatia.
He was expelled from the party , after a video, went viral on social media, which was purportedly shot after he jumped off the second floor of a building in Chandigarh’s Sector 63. Though the exact reason behind the step could not ascertained, it is learnt that the leader, 51, was reportedly visiting a woman in the apartment for some official work when another person whom he did not want to meet turned up there. In a bid to avoid in meeting that person Kathuria reportedly tried to descend from the balcony with the help of a cloth, and fell down after losing grip. He has been admitted at the Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER), Chandigarh, with a fractured leg. The person shot the video, which forces the party to take immediate action against him.
He came to limelight in the last tenure of Manohar lal Khattar also, when he was appointed Chairman of Sugarfed and he reportedly received a ransom call. The caller allegedly told him to deposit 60,000 dirhams into a particular account. The caller reportedly threatened Kathuria of dire consequences. The police registered a case and deployed personnel outside the BJP leader’s residence. Till date it’s not clear what happened after that
