Keeping in view the rising number of Covid cases in Punjab, yesterday Punjab chief minister Capt Amarinder Singh had issued several curbs in the state.

In continuation with this, state education minister Vijay Inder Singla ordered the closure of schools and postponement of the school exams, till March 31,2021. The cabinet minister said that the Congress government is committed to ensure the safety of the school students and every possible step will be taken to curb the Covid-19 contamination.

To check whether the private schools are obeying the CM, state education minister orders or not in the royal city Patiala. It came to notice that  some schools in Patiala defied chief minister orders; called students for exams.

In one of the school-DAV Public school, Bhupindra Road Patiala, where the students came for exams, the school authorities said “no students came for exams. Some students came in the morning, at their own, as they don’t know about the govt decision. When asked that then why the students went inside the school and some teachers were standing at the school gate and allowing the students to go inside?” She replied “wait, our higher ups will call you at this number.” But nobody called back. When contacted the school principal, he didn’t pick up the phone.

No other class students came school for examination. Moreover, DEO Patiala didn’t inform us about the postponement of school exams.” When questioned, the chief minister, state education minister had already announced the curbs, postponement of school exams, once again he said “but DEO didn’t issue any orders”

When contacted the school authorities of DAV Public school Samana, in the district  “they said we have 8th class board exam, so the students came for the exams.
