Sri Chamkaur Sahib to be developed as one of the best Tourism hub: Channi

The Punjab Government under the leadership of Chief Minister Capt. Amarinder Singh was making special efforts to develop the holy historic city of Sri Chamkaur Sahib as a one of the best tourist destination in the world. The Chief Minister has approved Rs. 47 crore for beautification and theme park under this project.
Disclosing this here today after the inauguration of the beautification project Charanjit Singh Channi Cabinet Minister Punjab said that Rs 14 Crore would be spent on the beautification project and Rs 33 crore on the theme park.
Briefing further about the project the Minister said that 14 crore beautification project includes façade development at Gurudwara katalgarh Sahib Road, Beautification of canal embankment and pathway along the canal etc.
Channi thanked Chief Minister for approving the development projects for the historic holy city which would be done by the state tourism department.
The Minister said that Sri Chamkaur Sahib holds a great significance in the Sikh history as elder Sahibzadas of tenth Sikh Guru of Sri Guru Gobind Singh ji were martyred here fighting with the mugals. The Sikhs from all over the world come here to pay obeisance to Baba Ajit Singh Ji and Baba Jujhar Singh ji. Due to its importance, the Punjab Government would leave no stone unturned in beautification of this holy place.
The Minister further said that besides this development works of theme parks are in progress with the cost of Rs 33 Crore. This work is being done by the best designers, engineers, artists, singers with the latest technology from all over the world. ‘All the development works of the holy city would be completed well in time,’ added Channi.
