Strict action should be taken against drug traffickers-Gurpreet Singh Bhullar

Rupnagar Range DIG Gurpreet Singh Bhullar and Rupnagar SSP Dr Sandeep Garg he jointly held a special meeting at local Police Line Rupnagar with all the Gazetted Officers, SHOs Police Station and chowki in-charges of the Rupnagar disrict. The main objective of the meeting was to stop drug smuggling in the district and .make the district drug free.
During the meeting, DIG Gurpreet Singh Bhullar directed all the officers to keep a strict vigil in their respective areas and take strict legal action against drug smugglers .
He said that the people should be made aware of the ill effects of drugs through seminars and meetings at the village and mohalla level and if any person is involved in drug trafficking in their area, he should be motivated to inform the police immediately.
“In addition, by conducting seminars in the schools and colleges of the area, the youth should be made aware of the ill effects of drugs and how to stay away from it”,he told police officers adding that those police officers and policemen who would perform better in checking the drug menace,would be rewarded..
He also appealed to the people to co-operate with the police in eradicating the drug menace and they should give secret information to the police. He said that information could also be shared on special WhatsApp number 80541-00112 of SSP Rupnagar and the name and address of the informant will be kept confidential.
