Students of World University visit All India Radio
Students of Sri Guru Granth Sahib World University, Fatehgarh visited All India Radio Station, Patiala on an educational tour. A special interactive session with the officials of the radio station was organized on this occasion. During the interaction with students, the officials highlighted the different programming techniques and nuances of the radio programming but also explained the technical nitty-gritty’s of a radio station. The officials while answering the questions of the students shared their personal experiences and said the even though we are living in the age of new media and technology, the reach and impact of radio is unparalleled. All India Radio, Patiala also arranged a special recording of a program titled ‘Youth and Cleanliness” as part of the visit. The students held a discussion on the topic and expressed their views. The views of the students were broadcasted on All India Radio Station under a special programme.
The In-charge of the Department of Journalism and Mass Communication, Ripudaman Singh said that education visits like these not only prove beneficial academically to the students but also help in providing practical exposure to the students. Also present on the occasion were Nisha Kumari, Assistant professor, Department of Journalism and Mass Communication and Jaskirat Kaur, Assistant Professor, Department of English.
