Dr M S Bhatti of Guru Nanak Dev University has received the prestigious Fellowship of ‘The Institute of Engineers (India)’. It is the largest professional engineer’s body of India established in the year 1920 having125 centres with headquarters in Kolkata. This membership has conferred for significant contribution and experience in the field of environmental engineering after due scrutiny by a board of eminent personalities.Fellow of Institution of Engineers (India) is a highest rank given to any engineer.

Dr Bhatti is working as Associate Professor and former Head of Department of Botanical & Environmental Sciences of the University has two decades of experience. Besides teaching, he is expert member of environmental clearance committee, Punjab by Ministry of Environment, Forests & Climate Change.

The Institute of Engineers (India) elect GNDU faculty as fellow

He is active member of web enabled Principal Scientific Advisor Consultative Group on Science & Technology created on the recommendation of Prime Minister in 2019 to exchange new ideas with members from all over the world. He has completed two research projects funded by UGC and USAID, USA on arsenicin drinking water and attended international training at University of Hull, UK under Newton Bhabha fellowship on Advanced Wastewater Treatment.

Prof. Jaspal Singh Sandhu, Vice-Chancellor congratulated the faculty member for this prestigious membership and encouraged him to work hard for the betterment of the university. Prof. Sandhu is a hard task master and creates an atmosphere of excellence to compete at the global level.
