Training for Pradhan Mantri Farmer Irrigation Scheme

Bathinda-The agriculture department held meeting today to lay out plan for areas of Bathinda falling in jurisdiction of Patiala feeder/ Kotla Branch under the Pradhan Mantri Farmer Irrigation Scheme for the areas irrigated with these two water bodies. The main aim of this training camp was to draft a plan for optimum use of farm and water for areas fed by the Kotla branch. Its motive is to conserve environment for future generations by introducing sustainable crop diversification ensuring long term profits for the farmers.

Agriculture joint director Rajesh Kumar Vashisht, Chief Agriculture Officer Dr Guraditta Singh Sidhu, PAU Ludhiana expert Dr Ajmer Singh Brar, geologist /hydrologist Neeraj Pandit, superintendent engineer water supply dept Ashwani Kansal and executive engineer Jawaharke Kotla branch Kartar Chand were addressed the gathering. They trained concerned staff on online data collection and online data transfer. 24 teams of agriculture and farmer welfare department and water supply department have been constituted for data collection.

The team members including agriculture officer, agriculture development officer as supervisor, agriculture sub inspector and patwari Kotla branch interacted with the farmers of Talwandi Sabo and conducted inspected water available for irrigation to the Talwandi Sabo villages and expressed satisfaction over the water available.
