TSPL partners with PSRLM to set up Stitching Training Centre in Moffer village, Mansa

Talwandi Sabo Power Limited (TSPL), largest thermal power plant in Punjab partnered with Punjab State Rural Livelihood Mission(PSRLM) for establishing a stitching centre in Moffer village situated in Jhunir block of Mansa. The centre was inaugurated by  Vikram Moffer, Zilla Parishad Adhyaksha, Mansa along with Amarpreet Kaur Sandhu, ADC(D), and Manisha Rana SDM Sardulgarh.

Marred with poverty and lack of opportunities several women were looking for decent income generation avenues to make both ends meet in Moffer village of Mansa. TSPL’s flagship project TARA (TSPL Action for Rural Ajeevika) aiming towards training and strengthening Self Help Group women skills further linking them with income generation program received immediate support from the district administration under its PSRLM program. TSPL in partnership with PSRLM has set up a stitching training centre at Moffer village Mansa, the project will be implemented by Ambuja Cement Foundation, which will provide training and market linkage support to women.

Speaking on the occasion Vikram Moffer , Zilla Panchayat Adhyaksha, thanked TSPL for their support and said,” I take this opportunity to thank TSPL for their support and also ADC(D) for her efforts and vision to set up a training centre for women aiming towards enhancing their livelihood opportunities. I assure you of full support and cooperation, I will personally ensure that this centre gets all the facilities and will work towards providing other equipment and machines for diversified income generation opportunities.”

Amarpreet Kaur Sandhu ADC(D) Mansa appreciated TSPL’s effort and said, “I am grateful to TSPL for this support and I urge all women to make good use of this opportunity to enhance their skills and earn decent income. I would strongly recommend TSPL and its partner Ambuja Foundation for continued support, training and market linkage to make women self-reliant and emerge as role models for fellow women.”

Manisha Rana SDM, Sardulgarh said ,” This CSR initiative of TSPL is praise worthy and shall serve a dual purpose of enhancing income opportunities for women and as well as transforming them into self-reliant individuals, role models for fellow women to transcend the boundaries and set milestones.”

Pankaj Sharma, Associate Vice president, TSPL said, “TSPL remains committed to supporting communities for a decent lifestyle. We are thankful to district administration for their guidance and reposing trust on us. We will support you in all possible ways and I urge you to enroll yourselves in this centre for training and encourage other women as well to reap the benefits.”

TSPL partners with PSRLM to set up Stitching Training Centre in Moffer village, Mansa. The program culminated with vote of thanks and plantation done at the site by the dignitaries.
