Two Day Patiala District Chess Championship begins

Patiala- Patiala District Junior Chess championship started at DAV Public School, Patiala. The championship was inaugurated by Vivek Tiwari, Principal, DAV Public School, Patiala. Around 100 players are participating in groups of Boys (Under-9, Under-13, Under-17 and Under-25) and Girls (Under-13, and Under-25). After the completion of third round the leading position holders are as under:

Boys (Under-9): Anshiv, Dev Raj, Prabhnoor

Boys (Under-13): Deepit Gupta, Harshit and Hardik

Boys (Under-17): Shobhit, Nikhil, Khushant

Boys (Under-25): Shridham, Yash, Mudit

Girls (Under-13): Mehak, Jhanvi, Mandeep

Girls (Under-25): Deepanshi, Bhavna, Osheen

Two Day Patiala District Chess Championship begins

Two more rounds are yet to be played. The Prize distribution function will held tomorrow at 11 a.m. The top players from each age group will represent Patiala District in Punjab State Chess Championship.

A renowned chess player Vinod Sharma from Moga is officiating as Arbitrator of this tournament. Dr. Ramesh Sharma, President, Harchan Singh, General Secretary, Gobind Kathuria, Rakesh Garg, Rajeev Raheja, Dr. Doordarshi Singh and Vinod Sharma played vital role in successfully organizing this Championship. DAV school authorities supported very well during the tournament.
