UBS-GNDU initiates webinar series; career opportunities in the Post-Covid19 era discussed

University Business School (UBS) of Guru Nanak Dev University has initiated ‘Webinar Series on Management Innovation’. Going along with this theme, University Business School, Guru Nanak Dev University had organized its first series as the ‘Webinar-1.0’ on the topic “Career Opportunities in the Post-Covid19 era- a special focus on Start-ups” to envisage how “Innovation along with Digitalization will be the New Mantra for Prospective Entrepreneurs” as the Indian Economy and Industry shall come to terms with a new reality defined by uncertainity in the Post-Covid19 scenario. More than 250 participants, majorly students and faculty, gndu alumni and professionals from all across the country also registered for this online interaction.

Director of these Webinar series, Dr. Jasveen Kaur, Chairperson and Head of the department initially set pace for the webinar by highlighting the necessity of such an innovative platform for academic learning and skill enhancement for all involved, especially students, in the current unprecedented situation. She introduced a plethora of subject matter experts across various fields of entrepreneurship to the participants.

The key speakers of the Webinar-1.0, Harjinder Singh Cheema (MD of Cheema Boilers Ltd.),  Ajay P. Shrivastava, (Center Head STPI- Mohali), Dr. KS Bhatia (CEO, PUMPKART), and  Ashish Khare (Mentor & Trainer Start-ups), outlined the current state of various sectors due to the pandemic circumstances and its most likely impact on career opportunities in Post-Covid19 era.

They emphasized that adaptive and innovative business models, identification of dynamic and technology-driven business opportunities, and having a global vision would be the need of the hour. They opined that Post-COVID-19 will be an opportunistic time for the Indian Start-ups, because of the likely shift in production from China to our country, but also stressed that 5 Cs will be needed in every prospective entrepreneur to be successful i.e. Courage, Confidence, Commitment, Consistency, and Communication Skills. The webinar rounded off with a discussion session wherein students addressed their queries to the experts. The Webinar-1.0 was concluded by Webinar Director-Dr. Jasveen Kaur with vote of thanks to all the participants and the speakers for making it a success and expressing her gratitude to University Authorities and the Vice Chancellor Prof. Jaspal Singh Sandhu for their encouragement and whole-hearted support for ensuring an uninterrupted interaction among the students and the faculty across such technology-oriented interfaces. In future more webinars will be organized on different issues.
