Virasat-e-Khalsa ,  a museum of Sikhism, located in the holy town, Anandpur Sahib in Rupnagar district will remain open from 10:00AM to 06:00PM from 16th to 20th May 2022, including intervening Monday as a part of  weeklong celebrations of International Museum Day.

Visitor numbers have broken records as the Virasat-e-Khalsa museum has been recognised as the most visited museum in the Indian subcontinent. The footfall for a single day on March 20th 2019 was the most ever recorded for a museum in India. Over 10 million people have visited since its inception 8 years ago.

International Museum Day is celebrated by museums across the globe on May 18th, with the aim to generate awareness about the significant role of museums in community building, national and international cooperation as well as cultural exchange.
