World University celebrated 12th foundation day

Sri Guru Granth Sahib World University, Fatehgarh Sahib organized splendid programme on the occasion of its 12th foundation day. The programme started with recitation of sacred hymns of Gurbani by the students of University and staff. Prof. Kirpal Singh Badungar, former President, SGPC shared teachings of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji for betterment of society and motivated students to live their lives accordingly. He exhorted that we should utilize the great opportunity of 550th Parkash Purab of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji to disseminate his teachings of universal brotherhood and peace to every nook and corner of the world. For the cause, Universities and educational institutions can play a pivotal role.
Dr. Prit Pal Singh, Vice Chancellor, counted the academic achievements of the University during 2018-19 by the students and faculty members. He said that the students not only made accomplishments in the field of education and sports but also achieved in the area of research under able guidance of the faculty members. He expressed his commitment to the vision statement of the University i.e. creation of value based knowledge society and said that the faculty and staff members are striving hard consistently for the same. A student from department of Physiotherapy Ishnoor Singh shared information about life and contributions of great sikh scholar Bhai Gurdas Ji. Dr Hardev Singh, Dept of Religious Studies conducted the stage efficiently. Guru Ka Langar was distributed at the end of the programme. During the foundation day Celebrations members of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Fourth Centenary Memorial Trust, Bibi Parmjit Kaur Landran, Jaipal Singh Mandian and Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee Charanjit Singh Kalewal, Gurcharan Singh Grewal, Gurmeet Singh Booh, Bibi Kuldeep Kaur Tohra, Dr. Parmjit Singh, Prof. and Head, Encyclopaedia of Sikhism, Sukdev Singh, Additional Secretary, SGPC and Simranjit Singh, Joint Secretary, SGPC and also large number of students and staff members from different departments of the University were present.
