World University celebrated “World Rose Day”

Department of Physiotherapy of Sri Guru Granth Sahib World University, Fatehgarh Sahib celebrated World Rose Day (Welfare of Cancer Patients).On this occasion the department organized an online webinar on the theme of “Awareness about Blood Cancer” symptoms, diagosis and treatment. Dr. Supreet Bindra, Assistant Professor of the department welcomed all the distinguished guests, speaker and students from various educational institutions.
On this occasion, distinguished speaker, Dr. Sandeep Kukkar, Consultant Hemato Oncologist, Sohana Hospital, shared brief information about World Rose Day. He said that this day is celebrated to support cancer patients and make them aware so that they can face the disease with strong will power. He said that blood cancer is completely curable if the patient report early. He added that sometimes there are no symptoms until the disease is at the advanced stage.
Dr. Prit Pal Singh, Vice- Chancellor of the University congratulated the department for celebrating this day and organizing such an event. Dr. Singh said that the topic of this event is very important for today’s generation to get aware about the diseases like cancer and we all should step up and share knowledge among the people. At the end of the event Dr. Pankajpreet Singh, In-charge, Department of Physiotherapy presented vote of thanks to all the guests, speakers, faculty members and students for their presence and also to the technical team members Dr. Shruti Agarwal, Assistant Professor and Rajvir Dhanjal for successful streaming of this webinar on social media platforms.
