World University released a Book on Nitnem Banis

During a special function at Sri Guru Granth Sahib World University, Fatehgarh Sahib, a book on Nitnem Banis was released. The ceremony was presided by Gobind Singh Longowal, President, Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee and University Chancellor as the chief guest. Speaking on the occasion, Longowal said that one of the prime objectives of the University, established by the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee, is to promote Gurbani in the academic arena and it is one of the significant steps in this direction. Longowal congratulated the Vice-Chancellor, Dr. Prit Pal Singh, author of the book Dr. Dharam Singh, Former Professor, Punjabi University, Patiala and all the staff members of the University for this noble cause.
On this occasion, Dr. Dharam Singh informed that this book will help the readers of English around the world to understand the meaning of the verses in Gurbani Nitnem bestowed on us by Guru Sahib. He said that it is an extraordinary book of its kind in which the attempt has been made to reach the readers with a deep knowledge of Nitnem Banis instead of simple translations in the English language. Vice-Chancellor Dr. Prit Pal Singh said that the University is committed to promote and spread the principles of Gurmat and he expressed his gratitude to the University Chancellor, Gobind Singh Longowal for motivating continuously for such noble deeds. He further informed that the University regularly publishes journals on the splendid Sikh history, principles as well as interfaith dialogues for world peace. On this occasion Dr. Dharam Singh, Professor, Punjabi University, Patiala along with Dr. Hardev Singh, Assistant Professor, staff members of the University and Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee were also present.
