World University students kept folk heritage alive

Student activities related to folk heritage were organized at Sri Guru Granth Sahib World University Fatehgarh Sahib in the beginning of the semester (January-June) of 2020. Students from different departments participated in these activities with great passion and enthusiasm. Vice-Chancellor of the University Dr. Prit Pal Singh wished all the staff and students good results for the coming semester and the year. He also shared his views with the students, highlighting the historic significance of Maghi and Lohri festival celebrated this month. He prayed for the prosperity of Punjab and wished for peace and social harmony in Punjab to continue.

World University students kept folk heritage alive

It is noteworthy that the Department of Dean Student Welfare of the University organized these folk heritage activities, in which the students of the University participated in large numbers. Students made presentations for Giddha, folk songs, choreographies and Malawi Giddha. All of the University staff and students enjoyed the presentations with a taste of peanuts, reoris and sweets and cheered the performers enthusiastically. At the end of the program, Dr. Sikandar Singh, Dean of Student Welfare and Incharge, Department  of Punjabi thanked the students and staff members and said that such cultural and heritage activities enhance the creative interest as well as skills of the students.
