Department of Physical Education and Sports Technology of Sri Guru Granth Sahib World University organized an Inter-school and Inter-department cricket Tournament. This event was dedicated to the 550th Parkash Purab of Guru Nanak Dev Ji. The Chief Guest of the inauguration ceremony was Prof. S.S Jolly, Dean Faculty of Education and Information Sciences of the University, special guest of honour on this occasion were Prof. Tejbir Singh, Head, Department of Physics and Professor In-charge, Examination, Dr. C.Rajesh, Head, Department of Biotechnology, Dr.Sarpreet Singh, Dean Students Welfare.

Cricket Tournament organised at World University

During this event about 60 players from various schools of Fatehgarh Sahib and about 264 players from various departments of the university participated in the games. Ashoka Senior Secondary School was winner of Inter-school cricket with 6 runs. Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Prit Pal Singh while addressing the students said that to live a healthier and smarter life, youth should take an interest in sports along with their studies. He encouraged and congratulated the staff of Physical education and sports technology department for successfully organising the event. During the prize distribution ceremony, In-charge, Department of Physical Education and Sports Technology, Dr. Somanpreet Singh presented vote of thanks.
