Badals move-Akal Takht Jathedar resigned,uphold Panthic agenda

Amid growing demand for his resignation over pardoning Dera Sacha Sauda head Gurmeet Ram Rahim in blasphemy case and for taking other controversial decisions, Akal Takht jathedar Giani Gurbachan Singh today desired to resign from the temporal post of Sikhism.
Giani Gurbachan Singh as Takht jathedar, in his resignation letter said that due to ill health he won’t be able to hold the post of Akal Takht Jathedar .Confirming the development, Giani Gurbachan Singh told the media through a press release that his physique doesn’t allow him to serve more so he has decided to quit.
Recently SGPC President, Gobind Singh Longowal has said that if Giani Gurbachan Singh resigns then his resignation will be considered by the SGPC.
Earlier a section of SGPC members and former jathedars have sought the resignation of Akal Takht Jathedar Giani Gurbachan Singh and SAD president Sukhbir Singh Badal for taking “controversial” decisions on Panthic issues.
In his letter Akal Takht Jathedar Giani Gurbachan Singh has mentioned the good work done in his tenure.He even mentioned in his resignation letter that he feel sorry for any wrong doing in his tenure.
