Budha Dal hosting a CBSE Basketball Cluster XVII

Budha Dal Public School, hosting a 3-day CBSE Basketball Cluster XVII gained momentum at School premises, amidst great mirth, verve & camaraderie. Teams from 22 CBSE affiliated schools of Punjab & Haryana are participating in it. Arrangement for the boarding & lodging of the participating teams has been made in the school premises.

The Chief Guest, Pardeep Kumar Goyal (Deputy Commissioner, Income Tax Office, Patiala), the Guest of Honour Pardeep Kumar, ITO and other dignitaries were welcomed with bouquets.

The mega event began with the auspicious lighting of the torch in the presence of the Chief Guest Pardeep Kumar Goyal (Deputy Commissioner, Income Tax Office, Patiala), Chief Patron of the school Jathedar Baba Balbir Singh, President of the Management Committee of the school Sukhvinderjit Kaur, Admin Officer Parminderjit Kaur Brar, Principal  Amrit Aujla, teachers and students of the school.

The event was declared open by the Chief Guest  Pardeep Kumar Goyal by releasing a bunch of colourful balloons. He was accompanied by Tirlok Singh Sandhu (Ex. Director Pb. University, Chandigarh).

The various participating teams of boys & girls (U-17 & U-19) put up a spectacular display of discipline and teamwork through the March Past. The squads carried flags of their respective schools during a  CBSE Basketball Cluster XVII hoisted by Budha Dal Public School,Patiala. Thereafter an oath was taken for fair play and good sportsmanship.

The Chief Guest was greatly impressed by the display of the whole show and shared his words of wisdom, encouraging all the players and students that participation is more important than winning or losing. He stressed on team spirit along with the need of being the good citizens of India and representing the country with pride and dignity. The opening match was played between Budha Dal Public School, Patiala and Sawan Sr. Sec. School, Sirsa.
