BFCET Celebrates Engineers Day & Ozone Day

Baba Farid College of Engineering and Technology (BFCET) celebrated 51st โEngineers Dayโ to encourage scientific thoughts and promote better understanding of science. Engineersโ day is celebrated to commemorate birth anniversary of the greatest engineer Sir M. Visvesvaraya, Bharat Ratna Awardee. Er. Atul Kumar Jain, General Manager Incharge, National Fertilizer Ltd., Bathinda (NFL) was the Chief Guest of the event and H.K. Varshney, DGM (HR), National Fertilizer Ltd., Bathinda (NFL), was Guest of Honour. The event was attended by students and teachers from various departments of BFCET.
B.D. Sharma, Deputy Director (Career Guidance & Counseling), BFGI enlightened about the sterling qualities of Sir M. Visvesvaraya.He apprised them about the importance of Engineer’s day and role of an Engineer.He hoped that all budding engineers would make efforts to preserve the Ozone layer from polluted & dangerous gases.
Chief Guest of the event, Er A.K. Jain, General Manager Incharge, National Fertilizer Ltd. Bathinda (NFL), congratulated and wished everyone. He said that the theme of this year’s Engineers day is Digital Transformation: A new Industrial Revolution. He hoped that all the young engineers would rise to the occasion and use all their intelligence, knowledge and experience for the welfare of the society and mankind. He also appreciated Harkeerat Kaur, Ruchika Raj & Khushdeep Kaur of IT department for present their well informative presentations on Engineers day and Ozone layer depeltion.
Various events were organized by the various departments of BFCET such as Manufacturing Master by Department of Mech. Engg., CAD-O-Mania by Department of Civil Engg., Web Designing & Blind Coding by Department of Computer Science Engg. & IT, Circuit Designing by Department of Electronics & Electrical Engg.More than 200 students of BFCET participated in these competitions with great enthusiasm and zeal.They also took pledge for save environment.
Students of B.Tech.(ME) 5th semester Jaspal got 1st position & Harwinder Singh baggedย 2nd position in Manufacturing Master competition. Kaushlinder Kumar of B.Tech.(Civil Engg.) 5th semester bagged 1st position and Himdeep Kaur of B.tech.(Civil Engg.) 3rd semesterย got 2nd position in CAD-O-MANIA competition.Similarly, Sukhbir Singh and Yogesh Dholia ofย B.tech.( CSE) 3rd semesterย got 1st & 2nd positions repectively in Web Design competition. Chetan Bansal of B.tech.(IT) 5th semester bagged 1st position and Ankit Kumar of B.Tech.(CSE) 5th semester bagged 2nd position in BLIND Coding Competition. From B.tech.(ECE) 3rd year, Deepak Kumar & Sandeep Kumar , Beant Kaur & Rasneet Kaur and Anmol Narang & Sukhdeep Singh of bagged 1st, 2nd and 3rd Position in Circuit Designing Competition. All the winners were rewarded by the chief guest and other dignitaries presented over there. Dr. Gurmeet Singh Dhaliwal, Chairman, BFGI congratulated Principal, Staff and students of BFCET for 51st Engineer’s Day.
